My name is Sok Young. I am 18 years old. I live in Or Mony village Battambang province. I have 8 brothers and sisters. My dad has no permanent job. Most of the time, he stayed home and do some hunting. My mother has worked in Thailand for almost 10 years. She used to bring me to work with her for 6 months and after that I returned back to Cambodia. It was hard for me to work in Thailand. I had to hide from the police. I couldn’t get good pay from my work. Then, I moved to work in Phnom Penh for 3 years. Again, it was hard to work as a house helper. I was asked to work very long hours every day. But they paid US $25.00 per month. I decided to stop and moved to live with my sister where I was introduced into the sewing training program. My mom still asked me to go and work with her in Thailand but I rejected her. I like having a skill for my own. I believe that I can use it in my village.
